Background:
The Dutch Stabyhoun breed belongs to the family portrait and offensive bird dogs
for many years occurred in Europe.

These can be said to lie between the setter and spaniel to the size and type. Many of the breeds was, however, not recognized until the 1900s and the majority,
Stabyhoun like, only after the Second World War. Stabyhoun has increasingly attracted attention, even outside Netherlands in recent decades.

It is regarded as a very good hunting dog for less areas and is especially appreciated the friendly family dog.

General appearance:

Head:
The head should be dry and harmonize with body. The head should be longer than it is wide. Skull and muzzle are of equal length.

Cranial:

Nose:

Eyes: Medium sized, round and not oblique. Eyelids fit tightly. Blinkhinnorna or third eyelid may not be visible. The eyes should be neither prominent nor deep. The color is dark brown in dogs with predominantly black primer and brown in dogs with brown or orange ground color.
Raptor Eye (pale yellow) is not desirable.

Ear:
The ears should be relatively low set.
The ears should be worn tight against the cheeks, without folds.
They are moderately long, spoon-shaped.

Neck:
The neck is short and round. It is move back in line with a very open-angle, so that the head mostly worn low. Neck should be slightly arched. No dewlap or loose skin may be.

Body:
The body must be strong.

Back:
Straight and rather long.

Loin:

Chest:
Seen from the front, the chest being wider than deep. The front legs will thereby be fairly wide apart. Ribs well rounded and the posterior ribs should be well developed.

Underline:

Tail:

Feathering on the ears is the breed typical. These shall be rather long at the base of the ear and then decline in length of the bottom third of the ear, where The coat is short. The long coat on ears should be straight, a light wave is allowed, but curly hair is not desirable.

Color:
Black, brown, liver or orange with white characters. Spots and / or skimmelteckningar in the white is allowed.

Ideal Size for Dogs: 53 cm.
Ideal Size of bitch 50 cm.

Faults:
Any deviation from the standard is wrong and be assessed in relation to the degree out wrong.

Disqualifications:

Testes:
Male animals should have two testicles to be fully developed and usually located in the scrotum.
